Alison's Hair

Thank you for all that commented on Alison's hair. That was yesterday. She let it airdry out of the bath. I too was admiring it and thinking she was looking more polished and behaved than usual.

In a turn of events, 20 minutes ago she cut it. Stuart too--all by themselves. Or maybe they cut eachothers. Doesn't matter; same effect. Yah!

They go for the whatever works best when your front sections are two inches (or shorter) style on Thursday. I'll update then but I sense we're heading back into the frenzy, creative, spirited look. Which I adore.

Happy Half Birthday Ryan

Spring!

I only know this because the birds are still out. My peas sprouted underneath those trellises on Saturday. Broccoli to the right.

Interesting Function

Earlier Alison had told me that she needed new rainboots because her's were too small (true) and sopping wet. Later when I went to turn off running water, I found this.

Two Opposing Emotions

These pictures were taken within moments of each other. They did not feel similarly about the situation.

The Half-Birthday

Nicole called and made a valid point, that I had considered as well. It doesn't seem right to post 1/2 birthday celebration pictures when I haven't ever posted the real birthday celebration pictures. Well today, folks, I'm going to make things right.
Waiting patiently for the party to get going. Food. Stuart especially liked the chips.Burning off some energy with IZ.

Rachel & Jenny Jo laughing (about organisms).

Our friends brought Stuart and Alison half presents. These are half cards that accompanied half a candybar and half a package of gum.

Happy Saint Patty's

This morning, I didn't have high hopes for celebration--even thinking that St. Patrick's Day would be the holiday I let slip away this year. Then Rachel called and said she ditched school so we could celebrate together (okay, her kid did have a fever last night and was feeling a bit under the weather, but I like to think it was for me). We both concluded that since our kids have played together in the last few days, if the germs were going to jump, they would have already. We skipped over for lunch. Thank you Rachel. I can't wait for summer break.

Green Shamrock Buttermilk Pancakes, with whipped cream, sprinkles, and green syrup. Good.
Green Eggs and Ham, eh, not so much. Some food should not be served green (sorry Rachel & Mr. Seuss). Followed by a charming story time about wee green men who beat the shins and ankles of others. It really was a captivating story. We all enjoyed making wee wheat grass leprechaun gardens and icing leprechaun hats.

Working in the Garden

Okay, I may be using the term 'working' a bit loosely.Yeah, they're hunting worms.
For hours, every day.
They are exceptional at planting peas though. I'll keep them.
